On Friday, the couple appeared on the latest episode of Today show in which Benny Blanco shared that it was actually Selena Gomez who first confessed her love to the record producer.

While Gomez, 32, previously shared that she was the first to confess, Blanco discussed the moment in detail on the Friday episode of Today show, People magazine reported.The 37-year-old admitted that the two stars started dating each other when Gomez went through a hand surgery.
As she was coming out of anesthesia, she surprised Blanco by professing her love for him.

"...she just goes, ‘I love you.’ And I said, ‘What?’ And she said, ‘I love you’," Blanco recalled.

However, Gomez shared that she does not remember the key moment in their relationship, while Blanco seemingly did not take it seriously at that time.
Blanco simply asked her to go back to bed and thought she might have said it a few times as a "mistake”.

As Gomez and Blanco continued with the relationship, the music producer later decided to confess his love for Gomez and tell her about his feelings.Blanco said that while he was in New York City, he decided to propose to Gomez and had this "whole thing planned",
However, this time too Gomez "stole" the moment from him and confessed first.

Busy schedules play spoilsport
Although it's been a few months now since the duo went public about their engagement, Benny Blanco said the couple have not been able to enjoy these moments together due to their busy schedules.He highlighted that Selena Gomez was busy shooting for mystery drama series Only Murders in the Building and even was at the 2025 Oscars.
This was not the first time when Gomez and Blanco have openly discussed their relationship on camera.
Recently, they appeared on Spotify’s Countdown To where Blanco admitted that he got to know early that their relationship will last for a long time.
