James, who turned 40 on 30 December 2024, is the NBA's all-time leading scorer in regular season points with 41,837, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record from two years ago, which had stood for 39 years. He is also the league's all-time leader in playoff points, with 8,162, having overtaken Michael Jordan in 2017.

James is on the verge of reaching 50,000 career points, combining both regular season and playoff games. He scored 17 points on Sunday night during the Los Angeles Lakers' 108-102 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers' next game will be on Tuesday at home against the New Orleans Pelicans at 10:30 PM ET.

Already the all-time leader in combined points, James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's regular season scoring record on 7 February 2023, and broke Michael Jordan’s playoff scoring record on 25 May 2017.

With 49,982 total points, he entered Sunday’s game against the Clippers just shy of another milestone.

LeBron James has played 1,492 regular season games so far and recently won his 1,000th game against the LA Clippers. This victory places him 4th on the list of players with the most wins in NBA history. He trails Tim Duncan with 1,001 wins, Robert Parish with 1,014 wins, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 1,074 wins.

Throughout his career, James has played for three teams, winning the NBA Championship with each of them at least once. His first two titles came in 2012 and 2013 with the Miami Heat, followed by a win in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and his most recent championship was with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. As he remains an active player, the chance of him adding another championship to his tally is still very much possible.
