In a statement issued on Thursday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the administrative control of the ministry of road transport and highways said it has debarred these companies for irregular activities in fee collection at toll plazas, in violation of the provisions of the contract agreement. Performance securities worth over Rs 100 crore of the defaulting agencies have been forfeited and are being en-cashed for breach of the contract, it said.
