
'NATO wouldn't be as powerful without the US': Trump amid global tensions on trade, Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday (April 24) stressed the importance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to Europe, but said the alliance would not be as "powerful" without the United States. "I think without us, it wouldn't be as nearly as powerful, Trump said in a White House meeting with Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere that included Noway's finance minister and former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
