Lady Gaga debuts track written with fiance for LA wildfire victims at relief concert

Lady Gaga closed out FireAid Concert for LA wildfire victims on January 30 with a new song that she wrote with her fiance Michael Polansky. The singer said that the new song was based on the idea that “time is a healer”.

Gaga’s new track is potentially titled “All I Need Is Time” or “Time Is a Healer”, as per report. The Bad Romance singer also performed her hit tracks “A Star Is Born”- “Always Remember Us This Way” and the Oscar winning "Shallow” at the concert.

Talking about the California wildfires, Lady Gaga said that “horrible, scary” times like these had created a moment of unity for the people.

The "Joker: Folie a Deux" actress explained that she wanted to perform something inspiring for the audience and nothing “seemed quite right.” This led her to write a new track with Polanksy, Variety reported.

The singer said that the special number she was performing was just for the concert. Gaga remained behind the piano with a backing band for her set, a contrast to her usual fanfare.

The pop star also tweaked the opening line of “Always Remember Us This Way”. The line was changed to “That California sky burnin’ in your eyes” for FireAid, as per Rolling Stone.

Lady Gaga’s performance ended a star-studded lineup of artists like Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sting. The five-hour-long event took place simultaneously at two venues in Los Angeles- the Intuit Dome and KIA Forum.

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were spotted in the audience at Inuit Dome.

Audiences watching the concert were encouraged to donate online. Proceeds from the event as well as donations given during the show will be used for rebuilding communities and preventing such incidents in the future.

LA wildfires damage

At least 29 people have lost their lives in the LA fires which started in early January. Over 16,000 homes and businesses have been destroyed in the catastrophe, as per the BBC.
