Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.64% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.59 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.15 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 2.39 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 2.17 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.64 per cent at 22518.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.41 points at 24726.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 53.53 points at 80856.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, HFCL, YES Bank and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Nelco Ltd, Laxmi Cotspin, Pasupati Acrylon, Capital Trust and Century Texttiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zenith Exports, Stampede Cap(DVR), Divgi Torqtransfer, Arman Financial and Kalyani Forge hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
