Satcom services to go live in India shortly, for demos to start with
India is set to witness live demonstrations of satellite communication (satcom) services, with Bharti-backed Oneweb and Reliance Jio's satellite arm receiving permission from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to conduct these demonstrations. The companies have also applied for test spectrum to conduct trials on a wider scale. The satcom market in India is expected to grow substantially, particularly in rural and remote areas, with the potential for India's space economy to reach $13 billion by 2025.
