Speaking at a conference in Delhi, Bakre identified establishing infrastructure as the key problem facing EV adoption, adding that the economies of scale of the sector could reduce the costs of associated technologies. India is seen as a key growth market for EVs, with sales more than tripling to 10.54 lakh units last year. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency is part of the Ministry of Power and promotes energy-efficient projects and guidelines.
