Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Thursday's session.

Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 4.69%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 4.03%), NTPC Green Energy Ltd.(up 2.36%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(up 2.13%), PTC India Ltd.(up 2.03%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 2.00%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(up 1.84%), GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd.(up 1.73%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 1.36%) and Suzlon Energy Ltd.(up 1.35%) stood among the top gainers.

Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 3.27%), Karma Energy Ltd.(down 2.11%), KEC International Ltd.(down 1.75%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 1.35%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd.(down 1.25%), Inox Wind Ltd.(down 1.12%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 1.02%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 1.01%), SJVN Ltd.(down 0.90%) and Torrent Power Ltd.(down 0.89%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 414.46 points up at 23851.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1508.91 points at 78553.2.

ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 3.71%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 3.65%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 3.45%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 3.36%), State Bank of India(up 3.34%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 3.05%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.85%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.74%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.55%) and Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.33%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro Ltd.(down 4.35%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.27%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.22%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.15%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.14%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.11%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.07%) closed in the red.
