Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:21AM

Indowind Energy Ltd.(up 6.10%), NHPC Ltd.(up 5.21%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 5.00%), Inox Wind Ltd.(up 4.82%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 3.93%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 3.02%), GE Power India Ltd.(up 2.72%), India Power Corporation Ltd.(up 2.45%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 2.25%) were among the top gainers.

KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(down 4.33%), NTPC Green Energy Ltd.(down 1.79%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.66%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd.(down 1.64%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 1.38%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 1.32%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 0.93%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 0.81%), GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd.(down 0.33%) and JSW Energy Ltd.(down 0.32%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 4.5 points down at 23587.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 59.15 points at 77547.28 at around 11:21AM.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 4.58%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.24%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.91%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 2.57%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.82%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.68%), Trent Ltd.(up 1.36%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.35%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 1.2%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.19%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.73%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 2.11%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.75%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.66%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.5%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.47%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.33%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.29%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.26%) and Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.25%) were trading in the red.
