Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:45AM

KIOCL Ltd.(down 5.79%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 5.11%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 4.82%), NMDC Ltd.(down 4.53%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 4.29%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 4.03%), MOIL Ltd.(down 3.98%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 3.88%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 3.69%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 3.43%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 285.3 points down at 23961.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 864.35 points at 78937.08 at around 10:45AM.

SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 4.1%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.53%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.49%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Axis Bank Ltd.(down 4.52%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 3.64%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 3.5%), Trent Ltd.(down 3.17%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 2.75%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 2.75%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 2.72%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.64%), State Bank of India(down 2.59%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 2.51%) were trading in the red.
