Synopsis
A small negative candle was formed on the daily chart at the new swing lows of 24,341 with minor upper and lower shadows. Technically, this pattern indicates the formation of a Doji-type candle pattern (not a classical one). Normally, the formation of doji after a reasonable upmove or down moves is considered an impending reversal pattern on either side post-confirmation.
The short-term trend of the Nifty remains negative. But the present pattern formation is signaling a possibility of an upside bounce from here or from slightly lower levels. A sustainable move above 24,600-24,700 levels could confirm the quantum of upside bounce in the market. However, a slide below 24300 could trigger more weakness in the near term, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.

Patanjali Foods posts second-quarter profit rise on strong cooking oil demand
Indian consumer goods maker Patanjali Foods reported a 21% rise in second-quarter profit on Thursday, aided by strong demand at its mainstay cooking oils business.
The Ruchi Gold oil maker's profit rose to 3.09 billion rupees (about $37 million) for the three months ended Sept. 30, from 2.55 billion rupees a year earlier.
India's edible oil demand has been buoyant as cooking oils remain affordable despite an import duty hike, analysts said.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened higher on Thursday, recovering from a selloff in the previous session, as gains in Tesla shares after its optimistic earnings forecast lifted indexes.

Embassy REIT Q2 net operating income up 12% to Rs 804.6 cr; to distribute Rs 553 cr to unitholders
Embassy Office Parks REIT on Thursday reported a 12 per cent increase in net operating income to Rs 804.6 crore for the second quarter of this fiscal and also announced distribution of Rs 553 crore to unitholders for July-September period. Its net operating income (NOI) stood at Rs 718.9 crore in the year-ago period.
"With a record 4 million square feet of leasing in the first half of 2024-25, and a robust pipeline for the rest of the year, we are pleased to revise our leasing guidance upwards to 6.5 million square feet," Aravind Maiya, Chief Executive Officer of Embassy REIT, said.

United Breweries Q2 Results: Net profit zooms 23% to Rs 132.33 crore, revenue up 13% to Rs 4,743.56 cr
Beer maker United Breweries Ltd on Thursday reported an increase of 23.47 per cent in consolidated net profit at Rs 132.33 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2024, on better volumes. The company, controlled by Dutch multinational brewing company Heineken NV, had posted a net profit of Rs 107.17 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, United Breweries Ltd (UBL) said in a regulatory filing.
UBL's revenue from operations was up 13.13 per cent to Rs 4,743.56 crore during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 4,192.86 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) on Thursday posted over 25 per cent on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 108.32 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2024 mainly due to higher revenues. Liquor maker Radico Khaitan on Thursday reported a 24.41 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 80.66 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024, led by growth from its premium segment. LT Foods Q2 Results: Profit dips 4% on higher costs despite revenue growth
LT Foods, owner of basmati rice brands Daawat and Royal, on Thursday reported a 4.22 per cent drop in net profit for the September 2024 quarter as higher expenses offset revenue growth amid global shipping disruptions. The company's consolidated net profit fell to Rs 150.61 crore in the second quarter ended September 30 from Rs 157.26 crore a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing.
Its total income rose 7.18 per cent to Rs 2,134.04 crore from Rs 1,991.91 crore a year ago, while expenses climbed to Rs 1,942.91 crore from Rs 1,792.33 crore during the second quarter of the current fiscal.

Godrej Consumer Q2 Results: Net profit rises 13% to Rs 491 crore
FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd on Thursday reported a 13.52 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 491.31 crore in the September quarter, helped by volume growth in the domestic market and Indonesia. It had posted a net profit of Rs 432.77 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL).

Indian food delivery giant Swiggy is internally aiming for a company valuation of $12.5 billion-13.5 billion for its upcoming IPO, cutting its target by 10-16% due to market volatility, two people with direct knowledge said on Thursday.

Westlife Foodworld Ltd, owner-operator of McDonald's restaurants across West and South India, on Thursday, reported a 98.4 per cent decline in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 35.78 lakh for the second quarter ended September 2024, impacted by higher expenses and subdued in-store business. The company had posted a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 22.37 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal, Westlife Foodworld Ltd (WFL) said in a regulatory filing.

CSB Bank Q2 profit remains almost flat at Rs 138 cr
CSB Bank on Thursday reported a marginal 4 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 138 crore for the quarter ended September 2024. The Kerala-based lender had earned a net profit of Rs 133 crore in the year-ago period.

Harley-Davidson trimmed its revenue forecast for the year as sticky inflation and high borrowing costs hurt demand for motorcycles in North America.
