Schaeffler India Q3 Results: PAT grows marginally to Rs 236.41 cr
Schaeffler India on Wednesday said its consolidated Profit After Tax grew marginally to Rs 236.41 crore in the July-September quarter of this year, from Rs 232.76 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations during the reporting quarter, however, rose 14 per cent to Rs 2,116.3 crore in the third quarter of 2024, from Rs 1,853.6 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Automobile-industry focused KPIT Technologies has recorded a 44 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 203.7 crore in the September quarter. It reported a net profit of Rs 141.4 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing.

Keeping up with the massive buzz, Waaree Energies IPO received 97.34 lakh applications ¡ª the highest for any IPO in India's primary market history to date.
The previous record was held by Bajaj Housing Finance, whose IPO received around 90 lakh applications and Tata Technologies, which garnered 73 lakh applications.
The Rs 4,321 crore IPO received an overwhelming response from investors by receiving bids worth Rs 2.41 lakh crore. MakeMyTrip Q2 Results: Profit at USD 17.9 million on strong revenue growth
Online travel booking platform MakeMyTrip on Wednesday posted a net profit of USD 17.9 million for September quarter FY25, on strong revenue growth. The NASDAQ-listed company had reported a net profit of USD 2 million in the same period last fiscal.
Revenue as per IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) grew 26.5 per cent in constant currency to USD 211 million from USD 168.7 million in Q2 FY24, a statement said.
The adjusted operating profit grew 32.9 per cent year-on-year to USD 37.5 million in Q2 FY25.

Metro Brands Q2 Results: PAT at Rs 69.55 crore on high expenses, weak demand, misses estimates
Indian footwear retailer Metro Brands missed second-quarter profit estimates on Wednesday, as higher expenses weighed on muted sales growth.
The footwear retailer reported a consolidated net profit after tax of 695.5 million rupees ($8.3 million) in the quarter ended Sept. 30, up 4% from a year ago.
Analysts, on average, were expecting 767.4 million rupees, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Revenue from operations rose 5% to 5.85 billion rupees, while expenses rose 7.9% to 5.15 billion rupees.

Gold, silver hit new lifetime highs on wedding season demand
Rallying for the sixth straight session, gold and silver prices breached fresh record high levels in the national capital on Wednesday mainly driven by festive and wedding season demand, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Gold prices jumped by Rs 500 to an all-time high of Rs 81,500 per 10 grams while silver surged Rs 1,000 to Rs 1.02 lakh per kg.
Gold prices of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs 500 each to Rs 81,500 per 10 grams and Rs 81,100 per 10 grams, respectively.
Silver jumped Rs 1,000 to reach a fresh high of Rs 1.02 lakh per kg from the previous close of Rs 1.01 lakh per kg on Tuesday.

Contract research and manufacturing services firm Syngene International on Wednesday reported a 9 per cent on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 106 crore in the second quarter of FY25. The company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 117 crore in the July-September quarter of last fiscal.

Gold's record-breaking rally fuelled by US presidential race anxiety
Gold prices hit record highs on Wednesday, as investors grew anxious about a tight U.S. presidential race and loaded up on safe-haven investments, while silver traded close to its highest in 12 years.
Spot gold gained 0.1% to $2,750.87 per ounce as of 0951 GMT after hitting a record high of $2,758.37 earlier in the session. U.S. gold futures edged 0.2% higher to $2,765.00.
"It's the uncertainty related to the U.S. election and rising debt burden in the U.S. They have to issue billions of dollars of debt as well just ahead of the election into a relatively thin and nervous market," said Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank.

GMR Group secures Rs 6,300 cr debt funding from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
GMR Group on Wednesday said it has secured Rs 6,300 crore debt funding from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and the proceeds will be used for refinancing debt of its promoter group entity GMR Enterprises Pvt Ltd (GEPL). GEPL is the promoter of GMR Airports Ltd (GAL). The group operates three airports in India -- Delhi, Hyderabad and Goa -- and two airports in the Philippines and Indonesia.
In a release, GMR Group said it has executed an agreement with a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADIA for Rs 6,300 crore investment in the structured debt instruments of GEPL.

U.S. stocks ended little changed on Tuesday, but the Nasdaq eked out a modest gain while investors kept an eye on Treasuries yields and awaited more earnings to assess the health of American companies.

Oil prices edged down on Wednesday after industry data showed U.S. crude inventories had swelled more than expected, while the market kept watch on diplomatic efforts in the Middle East as Israel continued attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
Brent crude futures dipped 31 cents, or 0.4%, to $75.73 a barrel by 0011 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures shed 32 cents, or 0.5%, to $71.42 per barrel.
