Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.59% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:20AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 2.02 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.8 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.76 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.99 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.59 per cent at 21752.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 262.0 points at 23612.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 894.21 points at 77799.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and IREDA were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cura Tech, MPS Ltd, Mahamaya Steel, Reliance Naval & Engg and Hotel Rugby hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gangotri Text, Reliance Comm, SecUR Credentials, Kesoram Inds. and Noida Toll Bridge Co hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
